Experiences from FSY

I liked the 'my personal burning bush' lesson. I learnt that we need to admit our mistakes and try to make the situation better and then promise that we will never do it again.

FSY was the most magical experience of my life. It was great because I got to share my testimony with others and now I understand how it is to feel the Holy Ghost. Something else I really liked was the musical and variety show. This experience helped me to learn many good things and to make wonderful new friends that, I hope I can keep forever. 

Before FSY I had wondered if Heavenly Father truly knew me personally. A week later and I know he does. Also during FSY I realized that many people seem different than what they truly are and inside they are different; I should not be quick to judge others. Through FSY my testimony that Jesus Christ lives, that he atoned for our sins and that we can repent and be forgiven because of him has been greatly strengthened. I cannot wait to go on a mission and share it with others and serve others who have not had the chance to learn the gospel. 

FSY was such an amazing experience. It has really made me feel like I need to become a better person and to be an example to other people. I loved the talk on the deep beauty and I learned that we are all beautiful and we need to show our inside beauty also. My testimony really grew during this camp and the girls I met are also amazing, I've never ever felt so special. We had such a special bond. Also we had these oil lanterns that each group had to keep lit. It was so easy to do but it was hard to remember to do it. What I learned from this is that by keeping the Commandments and doing what is right is what will keep our lanterns lit and even when our lantern went out it was so easy to relight it. So my testimony is that I know Jesus died for us and I do believe in the Holy Ghost and I know that we stand out in this world and I know that by keeping the Commandments we can be truly happy.

So it was the best week of my life, the best experience ever. I really felt the spirit every day and in every moment and I know that the Holy Ghost is real because of one of my friends. While we were talking about how our day was, we felt the Holy Ghost. She told me that she is not baptized and that she had never felt the Holy Ghost, but on the last day she gave her testimony and told us that she felt it and that for me was so powerful to know that she had recognized the Holy Ghost for the first time ever in her life.

My entire life I have been a member of the church and for little while, quite recently, I was feeling lost. I still had my testimony and I knew what I was supposed to do, but I wasn't progressing spiritually. At FSY a teacher that addressed the youth directly and kept asking us 'do you see'. In his lesson, he said that often we as youth and people choose not to see the right path because once we do see, we have to change. I realized that I had become content with what I knew, so I stopped asking questions and pushing myself. FSY made me see. I learned that God is there for me and wants me to ask the questions that I have about life or any situation I'm in so he can help me with the answers. If God gave us all the answers without trying, we wouldn't learn. I know that Heavenly Father loves me, and he has a plan for me. I know that whenever life gets hard or if I ever feel lost again that I only need to turn to Christ and he will help me. I also know that the Holy Spirit is real, that he will always be with me to guide and enlighten me if I am worthy and willing to act on his promptings The Book of Mormon is a true book and contains the answers to Life's questions. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church.
